Pauline joined Oriel Securities in 2004 from the Investment Banking division at Clifford Chance to head up Compliance and in-house Legal. After graduating with a degree in Civil Engineering, Pauline spent six years with BP Oil in London, Africa and Brussels. She then qualified as a Solicitor in 1996 and joined Ashurst as a corporate lawyer where she also spent time on secondment to ABN Amro. The majority of her experience was gained in M&A and corporate finance, latterly focussing on equity issues and public takeovers particularly in the energy division where she was able to draw on her previous experience in the oil industry. Susan read law at Hertford College, Oxford and qualified as a solicitor in 1991. After qualification, she worked as an employment lawyer in the City, most recently as an equity partner at Nabarro. He spent 14 years (1992-2006) at ABN (Hoare Govett) latterly as Deputy Head of Pan European Sales and 6 years at BZW where he was a Leisure sector specialist, this included a period in Corporate Finance/M&A. David graduated with honours from the University of Glasgow in 1993 and then qualified as a Chartered Accountant with ICAS in 1996 as a prize winner whilst at KPMG Glasgow. Having spent two years on secondment to KPMG Paris, David then joined HSBC International and latterly worked as financial controller of HSBC Card Services before moving to Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein and Natixis. Paul Thompson joined Oriel Securities as Deputy Chief Executive in January, 2011. He has over 25 years’ experience in the securities industry, including stints as a European chemicals sector analyst and a South East Asia specialist equity salesman, and has held senior management posts at a number of investment banks. Between 1999 and 2009 he was Chief Operating officer for EMEA Equities at Citigroup and, latterly, was a founding partner of Amias Berman & Co., a global fixed income brokerage. Mike joined Oriel Securities in April 2006 from HSBC Investment Bank to initiate research coverage of the UK banks sector and became Head of Research in January 2011. He has over 20 years experience in the UK banking sector, initially working for TSB Group plc in corporate planning and finance. For the last 17 years or so Mike has been the UK banks analyst with S G Warburg, Schroder Securities and HSBC. At HSBC he also managed the global banks research teams for both the debt and equity markets. David was until December 2000, Chairman and Chief Executive of the investment bank ING Barings, and a Board member of the ING Group. Before joining the ING Group, he spent 18 years with Phillips & Drew and UBS, becoming Executive Vice President and Regional Head of UBS Europe, and a member of the Group Executive Board. David has extensive UK and international experience having held senior management, research, sales and trading roles in the UK, Japan, the United States, Switzerland and Australia. David is a former non-executive Chairman of LCH Clearnet Ltd, non-executive Director of RWC Partners and investment advisor to the Universities Superannuation Fund. Bim is CEO and owner of The Santon Group, which has successfully undertaken several hundred million pounds of developments across the UK. He was a founder and CEO of Raven Mount plc, a founder of Raven Russia Limited, which he helped to list on AIM raising over £450m, and CEO of the external Fund Manager to that company. He was Chairman and a founder of Audley, an assisted living business operating retirement villages. In the 1990s he was MD of the UK Operations of the Australian developer Hudson Conway and represented their 50% interest as a director of The Courage Pub Company plc. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG and was secretary to the UK Property & Construction Group.
