The Management Team

Simon is a founder of Oriel Securities.  Launched in 2002, Simon has grown the business aggressively to its current strong position. Prior to this role, Simon worked at HSBC Investment Bank, Cargill Financial Markets and Hoare Govett.

Simon has over twenty years experience in financial services, helping companies and investors to be successful.

Simon graduated from Imperial College, London with a degree in Chemistry and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Peat Marwick Mitchell (KPMG).

David has over 25 years' corporate finance experience advising companies on M&A and capital raising transactions.

David followed his graduation in Law from Nottingham University by qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse.  In 1984 he joined the Corporate Finance Division of Schroders where he spent a total of twelve years, including four on secondment to Schroders in Sydney.  His experience with Schroders encompassed a wide range of transactions, including hostile and recommended public bids, public and private company mergers and acquisitions and capital raisings for a mid-to-large capitalisation client base.  From 1996 he worked as a Director of Close Brothers Corporate Finance, developing its business advising mid-capitalisation companies across most industry sectors.

Susan read law at Hertford College, Oxford and qualified as a solicitor in 1991.  After qualification, she worked as an employment lawyer in the City, most recently as an equity partner at Nabarro.

Susan joined Oriel as its Human Resources Director in November 2009 having worked with the business previously over a number of years.

Mark has over thirty years experience in Investment banking and joined Oriel in October 2009.

Mark is a senior trader with a vast range of experience and knowledge of the Securities Industry.

He was Head of Pan European trading at Dresdner Kleinwort where he has been on the trading desk for 17 years. He started his City career at De Zoete and Bevan before moving to Morgan Grenfell Securities and then Natwest Securities

Lexa joined Oriel in 2008 from Fox-Pitt Kelton where she was Group Chief Operating Officer.

In her fifteen years with FPK, Lexa gained experience across all areas of the business. She was a Director of Research for 10 years and then COO. She was a member of the team that led the transition of FPK as it moved back into a partnership, from ownership under Swiss Re, alongside the private equity group, J.C. Flowers & Co, which included building a global support team and infrastructure platform.

Adrian is a founder of Oriel Securities.

Adrian has 20 years of broadly based Investment Banking experience and was previously a director in HSBC’s ECM business, joining them in 2000.

He joined Baring Brothers & Co in 1989 in its Corporate Finance department. At Barings Adrian worked on a full range of corporate finance transactions, including a large number of public offer situations.

Adrian qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Peat Marwick Mitchell (KPMG) in 1987 having graduated from Oriel College, Oxford with a degree in Classics

Eithne joined Oriel at its inception in 2002 from ABN AMRO where she was European Sector Director for General Retail.

Eithne was responsible for the European sector view and also key to developing ABN’s corporate relationships in the Retail Sector (Body Shop, GAME, N Brown and WH Smith). The team was consistently ranked in the top 5 Institutional client surveys.  She joined ABN’s Corporate Broking department in 1993 having qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG in Dublin. Following four years in the Corporate Broking department, Eithne then joined the research department in 1997.

Johnny has 26 years experience in Equity Markets and prior to joining Oriel was Head of Equities at Chevreux (London) and Seymour Pierce. He spent two years as head of UK Equity Sales at Dresdner Kleinwort having moved to London in 1989 with UBS. He spent 12 years at UBS in Sales, involving UK and South African Equities, latterly being head of Emerging Market (Europe) Sales.

Johnny has worked on a broad range of IPOs and Secondary offerings in both the UK and emerging markets across a wide range of Industry sectors.

Brendan is a founder of Oriel Securities.

Brendan is an oil & gas industry expert with over 30 years of working experience in this industry and with broad experience across the full range of equity capital market activities. He previously worked for Hoare Govett in the UK (where he acted as corporate broker to BP, British Gas, Enterprise Oil, Clyde Petroleum and Fortune Oil) and latterly on corporate finance mandates for HSBC Investment Bank in Australia and the Far East.

Brendan also worked in the oil industry in Australia in connection with the flotation and continuing development of an E&P company.

Brendan is a graduate of Oriel College, Oxford.

David was until December 2000, Chairman and Chief Executive of the investment bank ING Barings, and a Board member of the ING Group. Before joining the ING Group, he spent 18 years with Phillips & Drew and UBS, becoming Executive Vice President and Regional Head of UBS Europe, and a member of the Group Executive Board.  David has extensive UK and international experience having held senior management, research, sales and trading roles in the UK, Japan, the United States, Switzerland and Australia.

David is a former non-executive Chairman of LCH Clearnet Ltd, non-executive Director of RWC Partners and investment advisor to the Universities Superannuation Fund.  He is currently non-executive Chairman of the Henderson TR Pacific Investment Trust, Senior Independent Director of Meggitt PLC and a non-executive director of two venture capital-backed companies. In addition, he is the former Chairman of New Philanthropy Capital and Chairman of two other charities.

John is non executive Chairman of Norcros plc an international group which includes Triton the leading UK shower manufacturer.  Until his retirement in 2005 he was Chief Executive of Speedy Hire plc, a company he founded in 1977.  Curently John is a non exec director of Henry Boot plc and Lookers plc and Chairman of Scott Harris the leading investor relations company.

Peter was Finance Director of Taylor Wimpey following the merger with George Wimpey and also formally Group Finance Director of Taylor Woodrow plc and a non-executive director of Shanks Group plc. He has considerable experience within Financial Services having previously been Group Finance Director of Henderson Administration plc, Chief Financial Officer for Pearl Assurance plc and Finance Director of Norwich Union Life

Bim is CEO and owner of The Santon Group, which has successfully undertaken several hundred million pounds of developments across the UK.  He was a founder and CEO of Raven Mount plc, a founder of Raven Russia Limited, which he helped to list on AIM raising over £450m, and CEO of the external Fund Manager to that company.  He was Chairman and a founder of Audley, an assisted living business operating retirement villages.  In the 1990s he was MD of the UK Operations of the Australian developer Hudson Conway and represented their 50% interest as a director of The Courage Pub Company plc.  He qualifed as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG and was secretary to the UK Property & Construction Group.

Bim is a graduate of the LSE and graduated from CASS Business School with a distinction and joint-top of his class.  He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accounants as well as the Institute of Directors and Chartered Management Institute.  He is Chairman and founder of The Sandhu Charitable Foundation.
